Our Story

This is a Heal Zimbabwe Trust platform is designed to monitor the Human

The Constitution of Zimbabwe, Sections 155 (a) and (d) further provides for regular peaceful and fair elections which are free from violence and other electoral malpractices. It is the State’s obligation therefore to ensure that appropriate legislative and administrative measures have been put in place to curb electoral violence and other electoral malpractices. In less than 50 days, Zimbabweans will go to the polls to elect their local authority councilors, Members of Parliament and the President of their choice. In this edition of #ElectionPeaceWatch, we will look into the various key election related conflict issues, how they will affect the electoral environment, attempts made to resolve them and offer solutions and recommendations to resolve, mitigate and prevent conflict.

Our Objectives

Document cases of politically motivated human rights violations recorded during the month of February 2022 in Zimbabwe

Unpack systems of political violence in Zimbabwe with a special focus on key players and how the system is administered in constituencies that have  elections 

Proffer bottom-up solutions from local community peace structures to safeguard against continued politically motivated human rights abuses.

 

We opt to advocate offer solutions and recommendations to resolve, mitigate and prevent conflict.
