On Wednesday 5th of July 2023, Chiredzi police have banned the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) rally at Tshovani Stadium. Mr Nelson Chamisa was expected to address this rally in Chiredzi Town at Tshovani Stadium. However, the members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police locked the Stadium where CCC Chamisa was expected to address his supporters. The reason for banning this rally is that Zanu PF Residents Minister Ezra Chadzamira is officially opening a clinic in Chiredzi town. Police said they do not have the manpower to control the crowd at both the Zanu PF and CCC gatherings.
